You need to create quality content. On Instagram, content is divided into four, namely Instagram feeds, Instagram Stories, Instagram Live, and Instagram TV. The following is a brief description of each of these Instagram Post Types:
Instagram Feeds
The content you post on your Instagram feed must match your brand and at the same time be well received by followers. Therefore, you should know what type of content to post there.
Instagram feed is the entire photo or video that you have posted on the Instagram account. This can be a quick way to attract potential customers with unique and attractive visuals.
There are two types of content on Instagram feeds, namely images and videos. For pictures, there are no special provisions. As for the video, the maximum duration is 60 seconds with dimensions of 1080 x 608 for portrait and 1080 x 1350 for landscape.
Instagram Stories
Instagram stories are different from content on Instagram in general. This Instagram post type is posting video stories that only last for 24 hours and the position of stories is also at the top of your feed.
The main content Instagram story that is very useful for your business is creating story highlights. Which usually includes updating product promos/discounts, creating a product survey pool for your followers, making contest photos/videos, and making Instagram story highlights (you must post this image or video as the previous story)
Story Highlights are stories that have passed their 24-hour time limit and are now permanently posted on profiles. You can find it in the form of small circles just below the bio. This feature is a great way to show your best stories to new followers or those who missed them in the past.
Most business accounts use Story Highlights to showcase ongoing promotions, physical store locations, menus, reviews, and much more. You can also add an image for your Story Highlights cover. Make sure the image properly illustrates the story and fits your brand. One thing to remember. You can't just add pictures or videos in this Story Highlights. Instead, you must have posted the image or video as a story before.
Instagram Live
Instagram Live is the type of content where you do a live broadcast that followers can watch. It can help you to increase engagement, you can try doing a live broadcast on Instagram.
The option for a live broadcast is on the far left when you want to create a story. Once you go live, your followers will be notified automatically. So they can tell right away that you've started a live broadcast.
In addition, when you broadcast live your story position also changes to be at the forefront of other stories. So your live broadcast will literally be the first thing followers see when they open Instagram. You can also use Instagram live to announce new products, record ongoing events, and run live Q&A sessions with followers.
After the Instagram live is over, you can also post it in the form of a story which will be available for 24 hours. So, those who missed it can still know what you discussed in the live streaming session.
Instagram TV (IGTV)
Instagram TV is posting videos on Instagram TV. Different from Instagram Live, which broadcasts live, IGTV is more like YouTube. On IGTV followers can watch videos that you have uploaded.
Instagram TV (IGTV) allows users to watch long videos directly from the Instagram app or from a separate IGTV app. IGTV is very similar to YouTube and in the future is predicted to become a giant competitor to the video-sharing platform.
You can use IGTV to share promotional videos of your products, and share info about your business, video tutorials, and behind-the-scenes events.
Not much different from Instagram Stories, but now the duration can be longer so that it can provide space for creativity. What sets IGTV apart from Stories is the quality of the videos that are shared. If Stories are recommended for videos that are original as-is without a lot of editing, it's the other way around for IGTV.
It is recommended that you prepare your videos carefully on IGTV. From writing video scripts, planning shoots, and editing videos. Because, unlike Stories that are only 24 hours, IGTV can be permanent in your IGTV account.
